About the Project
I had an amazing privileged trip to Africa in April/May of 2022 with the major exhilarating experience being my time spent with the Massai Pre-school children in Kenya.
I came prepared with school supplies, hand written inspirational cards, the Lord’s prayer from home to give to the children.
I fell in love with these beautiful children, their smiles, their grace, their singing and their JOY. There are over 100 pre-schoolers that attend each day to learn. The children must learn Swahili, English and keep their Massai language skills current all while learning the various subjects. Their voices when they sing are the voices of angels.

When they sang to me after we handed out the candies on the first day, I was so moved I just cried at the Joy of being with these children. For me, it was a dream come true.

Day 2, I came back and taught the children yoga. They were so happy, so excited and when they did the partner yoga at the end, they just laughed and giggled and it just warmed your heart. They all came up to me at the end and just wanted to touch my hands. The love these children poured into me and all I did was show love and teach them Yoga

These precious children did not have a school but instead were taught outside with a lone latrine with a hole in the floor, no wipes for bathroom services.
When it rains, they must go home as there is no shelter. Their families have to gather water from the nearby river and before use, must boil the water to keep it safe for drinking, cooking and bathing. As water is at a premium, their uniforms are the colour brown to hide the dirt as access to clean water is a precious commodity.

Through fund raising, a school has now been started.
Well, I had my mind set on helping to put a roof over their heads. The Massai needs the help, the funding, the expertise, the everything to make this happen.
I am sharing this heartfelt story with you. It was the hardest thing I ever experienced leaving Kenya……I fell in love with the people. I am not sure we understand the enormity of what we really have until we experience something so profoundly different than our cultures to stir our emotions into action to help others in service.
I hope this story has touched your hearts…. It is unrealistic to think it would be the same degree that I experienced as I was there. However, I do have faith, hope and belief that the needs of these children will stir you to consider donating to help them learn, know others care and show loving kindness and to help them trust in humanity by giving them the gift of a proper school and restroom.
I am happy to report the building has started and your donations will specifically help put a roof on this building.
